ABOUT US

We are a Foundation of the Universidad de la República with a specialization of 21 years in software testing. We provide software testing services for information technology companies and other industries that use them intensely.

Our organization was formed in 2004 at the initiative of the Faculty of Engineering (FING – Udelar, by its Spanish acronym), through Fundación Julio Ricaldoni and CUTI (Cámara Uruguaya de Tecnologías de la Información). The project that promoted our emergence was funded by the European Union and the United Nations Development Program.

Testing is a technical investigation conducted to provide, all those involved in a project, with information about the quality of the software under test (Cem Kaner).

In CES, we understand testing as a key element of decision-making and as an agent of change. Our ultimate goal is to add value to the software. HOW DO WE WORK WITH OUR CLIENTS?

CES offers great flexibility in labor dynamics. We can either join our clients’ teams or position ourselves as leaders. We can form an independent team, or work together with other testing suppliers. We adapt to each project’s requirements to reach the common purpose with excellence.

The approach of CES, in which the academy works together with the productive sector to advance in the different topics, being able to connect with the different technologies, techniques and strategies that are used in different parts of the world, is very noteworthy.

CES contributes to ensuring the quality of software, both with a view to its sale or export, thus boosting the national industry, and in terms of its incorporation in public and private organisations, thus contributing to its proper functioning. When CES began, testing was not taken into account as a fundamental part of the work methodology. As time went by, it took that place, becoming a key part and making it possible for the software industry to be useful, valuable and provide real value. Today we have a very rich ecosystem of companies that do testing and software quality.
